Cinch-Day 1

Today is started trying out something new that my friend Catey turned me to. Cinch. I am trying the fast forward portion since I don't have the book and I can only do what she typed out. The point of the fast forward is to clean out your system and to reset your body. You are allowed to eat only 5 foods. Yogurt, raspberries, almonds, spinach, and eggs.

This morning I had the scramble for breakfast which was 1 cup of frozen spinach scrambled with one egg. It was somewhat edible. It could have used a second egg. Maybe tomorrow I will try it with a second egg and see it that goes better. I also had a bowl of raspberries with some almonds.

For lunch I had a parfait. 6 ounces of plain yogurt, 1 cup of raspberries and 2tbsp almonds.

For dinner, I had a salad. 2 cups of spinach (fresh) 3/4 of raspberries, 2 tbsp almonds, and 2 hard boiled eggs. I added a small amount of lite raspberry walnut vinaigrette. It was very good.

I started to get a migraine so I made up my smoothie a little early.

6 ounces yogurt, 1 cup raspberries, handful of ice, 1/4 of juice. I put it all in my food processor since I don't have a blender. It is actually pretty good but I am starting to get tired of raspberries.

Well, I have discovered something that I have known for a long time. I am not very good with keeping up with things like this.

I have tried running. I did great for 3 weeks. When I started the fourth week, my knee didn't want to cooperate. I haven't been able to run since and my knee is still not feeling great. Then I started attending a "gravity" class at the student rec center. It was a lot of fun. I was quite bummed that Jon went out of town because I 'm not able to go when he isn't here. No one to watch the kids at 6 in the morning. Gravity is a total body workout using the Total Body Gym. the weigh that is used is a combination of your body weight and the angle of the machine.

I haven't been losing any weight until recently. I can't even take credit for the recent weight loss. My doctor recently put me on a new medication to help with my migraines and one of the side effects is weight loss. I'm not complaining. Hopefully as the weigh loss continues, I will be able to start running again. Maybe I was just too fat for my knees.

So I haven't gone running since that first day. I have been trying to eat a bit better. I went to the doctor and I had gained 4 pounds in 3 weeks. She check my thyroid to see it that was the issue. Its not. So I decide to stop taking the soy and to just try to make better choices. I have been doing more walking. Yesterday we all went for a walk out to the mall to eat chinese for Ivy's birthday. It was a very long walk out there and back and I didn't eat dessert while I was there. I have been drinking more water but not as much as I would like to. Hopefully with Semester coming to an end, I will be able to get to the gym again and go ride my bike.

Ok. So this morning the scale said 186.7. Not good. That is up 2 pounds. I did indulge on some cookies last night but they were made with pumpkin. Is that good for you? Oh well. I guess I can't trust myself around any sweets.

Today I didn't do so great in the eating department. I had an English muffin with berry cream cheese for breakfast and a cup of coffee with creamer.  For lunch I had 3 tacos and that in itself came to 450 calories. I did drink so mater with lemon in it but I have also bee eating for leftover Easter candy. I didn't do any exercise today other than walking down the hall. I am planning on going running tomorrow morning before school. Tonight for dinner we are having pulled pork sandwiches.

Day 1

Today I got up and went for a jog. I am following the C25k program. I downloaded some podcasts that have the intervals marked in them so I don't need to worry about tracking my time. This morning was a bit chilly but at least it wasn't raining. It is supposed to be raining the rest of this week so I may need to go do my running at the rec center. Jon was supportive in my endeavor. Just before I left, Lilla woke up but he told me just to go. He knows how much I want to lose this "baby" fat and how hard it has been for me lately. I am also experimenting with taking soy supplements to help my weight loss. An awesome friend of mine has had amazing results with soy and so I figured it couldn't hurt. I am also trying to stay away from soda and drink lemon water instead. The hard thing for me is staying away from sweets. But maybe having this blog will help me to keep things on track. My weight yesterday was 184.7. I don't care how much weight I lose as long as I lose some weight, get healthier, look better, and feel better about myself.
